In the complaint filed at Bengaluru's High Grounds police station, Amit Shah was alleged of making provocative statements, promoting enmity and hatred and maligning opposition during his recent rallies in the poll-bound Karnataka.
Congress leaders Randeep Singh Surjewala, Dr Parmeshwar and Chief of Karnataka Congress DK Shivakumar filed a police complaint today against Union Home Minister Amit Shah and other BJP leaders, according to the complaint copy.
The complaint alleged that the Union minister knowingly raised several false and communal allegations against the party with clear intent of disrupting communal harmony maintained in the entire state
The complaint was filed by the Congress party after an audio conversation purported to be between Housing Minister V Somanna and his rival JD(S) candidate Mallikarjuna Swamy was leaked.
It also requested the police that an 'urgent and immediate' first information report (FIR) be lodged against the former Bharatiya Janata Party chief and others for the 'offences'.
