Schaumburg Library offers virtual tour of Holocaust exhibition
One of many Jewish cemeteries nationwide in which victims of the Holocaust are buried. People are invited to learn more about the Holocaust and more by experiencing the Karkomi Holocaust Exhibition tour, available online from the Schaumburg Township District Library.

The 76th anniversary of Victory Europe Day will be recognized by the Schaumburg Library with a virtual docent-led tour of the Karkomi Holocaust Exhibition from 2-3 p.m. Saturday, May 8, on Zoom.
This exhibit is a place for both those familiar with the Holocaust and those learning about it for the first time. Register at SchaumburgLibrary.org to receive the Zoom link. ....

Cultural Recovery Fund grants given to support Newark Palace Theatre, National Civil War Centre, Newark Castle and National Holocaust Centre

Funding of £78,000 has been granted to organisations in Newark and Sherwood in the latest round of the government s Culture Recovery Fund.
They are among 2,700 cultural and creative organisations nationally to receive a share of £400m to help their recovery from the coronavirus pandemic.
Newark and Sherwood District Council has been given £47,500 for its heritage and cultural services, including Newark Palace Theatre, National Civil War Centre ­— Newark Museum, and Newark Castle and Gardens.

The money will allow re-opening and the development of the cultural programme including increased use of Newark Castle’s gardens, as well as creating opportunities for local artists and arts practitioners. ....

Holocaust Memorial Day event to be held online


THIS year s Holocaust Memorial Day will take place online next week.
The annual day chosen to remember the millions of victims of genocide around the world will be marked by Bradford Council on Wednesday.
At 11am, 6 million+ Charitable Trust and Creative Scene, in partnership with Bradford Council, Kirklees Council and the Holocaust Exhibition and Learning Centre, invite everyone to join Be the Light in the Darkness, an online event to mark Holocaust Memorial Day.
It is the day we remember the six million murdered Jewish people and other victims of Nazi persecution before and during the Second World War.
Further victims of genocide in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia, Darfur (Sudan) and Myanmar are also remembered. ....
