Stephen Chow, Andy Lau, Sandra Ng attend Ng Man Tat's wake


They had collaborated to great success in comedies such as
Fight Back To School (1991) and
Justice, My Foot! (1992) but had not worked together since
Shaolin Soccer in 2001.
Since the death of actor Ng Man Tat about two weeks ago, many Hong Kong media outlets have wondered if his frequent collaborator, actor-director Stephen Chow, would appear at his wake.
On Sunday (March 7), Chow, 58, turned up to pay his respects to Ng, 70, who died on Feb 27 of liver cancer.
He showed up with his elder sister Kelly Chow at about 4pm, wearing a cap and dressed in black. He was at the wake for about nine minutes and left without speaking to the media.

KUALA LUMPUR, March 8 — Late veteran actor Richard Ng Man Tat will be cremated today, in Hong Kong before his ashes are sent back to Malaysia.
Quoting Ng’s younger brother Li Da,
China Times reported that it was Man Tat’s choice for his final resting place.
“He said he wanted his ashes to be placed at Malaysia so that he can accompany his wife and children.”

THE ashes of veteran Hong Kong actor Ng Man Tat may be interred at a columbarium in Johor, reported China Press.
According to entertainment journalist Zhu Pi, who is one of Ng’s close friends when he was alive, the body of the actor will be cremated today but his ashes will likely not be placed in Hong Kong due to the exorbitant prices for an urn niche.
It was reported that despite its small size, the urn niche used to store the ashes of actress Yammie Lam who died in 2018 cost HK$170,000 (RM89,211).

KUALA LUMPUR, March 3 — Veteran actor Richard Ng Man Tat made Johor Baru his home for over two decades after marrying a Malaysian beauty queen.
Singapore portal
Asia One reported that the 69-year-old only returned to Hong Kong recently to continue with his liver cancer treatment before succumbing to the disease on February 27.
According to the portal, Ng and Hou Shan Yan, who hails from Segamat, had gotten married in 1996 before settling in Johor.
