The U.S. Coast Guard saved a hiker who tumbled off a cliff on the north Oregon coast Friday, using a helicopter to pull them from the beach.
Rescue crews responded to Hug Point State Recreation Site south of Cannon Beach, where they attempted to reach the person, who had fallen more than 100 feet from a cliff, the Coast Guard said.
After first responders could not reach the person safely, a Coast Guard helicopter was dispatched to the scene. The aircrew hoisted them to safety about 45 minutes after responders first arrived.

CANNON BEACH, Ore. — A hiker was rescued by helicopter Friday after falling from a cliff at Hug Point State Recreation Site just south of Cannon Beach, the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) said.
The USCG helicopter aircrew was told a man had fallen more than 100 feet sometime before 4:30 p.m. Friday. A Seaside Fire Department paramedic was able to reach him before the helicopter arrived.
