The Indian Army conducted a flag march in the violence-affected area in Imphal Valley. Meanwhile, authorities in Imphal East district on Saturday decided to relax curfew hours from 5 am to 5 PM on Sunday, June 18 in order to facilitate the general public to purchase essential items including medicines and food items.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to visit on May 29.
The curfew relaxation was granted after the state witnessed acts of violence in which at least 60 people lost their lives.
Curfew has been lifted for Imphal East, Imphal West districts from 5 am to 12 noon Friday.
