JUST IN: FCT minister bans eid prayers on open grounds


Ogunleye said the delegation led by its Chairman, Imam (Dr) Tajudeen M.B Adigun, met Bello to discuss the modalities for holding eid prayers for the upcoming Eid el-Fitr celebrations.
“All worshippers are enjoined to hold eid prayers outdoors within the premises of their neighborhood Juma’at mosques. Indoor worship are to be limited to less than 50% of installed capacity.
“Religious authorities are advised to regulate the flow of people entering and exiting places of worship. All non-pharmaceutical intervention protocols of facial coverings, physical distancing and hand washing are to be observed
“All other eid celebrations and activities should be confined to homes as all public parks, recreation and entertainment centres are to be closed,” the statement read. ....

Unilever has gone live with new Regenerative Agriculture Principles (RAPs), a framework that outlines ‘five priority areas’ the company says are ‘in most urgent need of action and where we can generate the biggest impact’. FG To Sanction Returning Travellers Who Fled Quarantine Facilities


 
Returning foreign passengers who fled the quarantine facilities and violated the compulsory requirement will not go unpunished.
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr Boss Mustapha, stated this on Monday at the resumed briefing of the Presidential Steering Committee (PSC) on COVID-19 in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
He noted that the committee has received reports that some persons who recently returned to the country violated the mandatory quarantine requirement under the advisory by escaping from the facilities.
Mustapha, who is also the PSC Chairman, condemned the violation of the nation’s laws and hospitality, noting that the committee was awaiting the report of ongoing investigations and would impose appropriate sanctions on the violators. ....

Disturbed by the resurgence of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Federal Government has announced the reinstitution of all extant control measures aimed at mitigating the impact of the deadly scourge.
Accordingly, the Presidential Steering Committee PSC on COVID-19 has reimposed the nationwide curfew earlier put in place to control the spread of the virus.
It has also limited gatherings especially in enclosed spaces to a maximum of 50 persons, urging state governments to inaugurate mobile courts to try offenders. ....
