Lives of several critical patients on oxygen support across Delhi’s Covid hospitals continued to hang in balance as supplies ran thin and managements flagged drying stocks, some reporting a mere two hour supply left.
Sunil Sangar, CEO of Shanti Mukund Hospital in the capital broke down today as he said his facility had 110 patients on oxygen and the doctors were unable to maintain full levels of supply needed by each patient and were now rationing to ensure supplies last longer.

Delhi hospitals remain on edge after fresh oxygen supply, crisis continues as stocks may run out soon

A major crisis was averted on Tuesday night in a number of Delhi hospitals treating critical Covid-19 patients. Several government and private hospitals had oxygen stock for only a few hours while some had already exhausted their stock.
An SOS call came from Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain on Twitter making an appeal to Union minister Piyush Goyal to restore oxygen supply from a plant in Uttar Pradesh. The timely arrival of oxygen containers averted a major crisis. However, the hospitals remain on the edge despite the oxygen supply.
