STUART, Fla., May 5, 2021 /PRNewswire/ KW Miller announced today his plans to help clean and treat water flowing into south Florida. The following is his statement on this plan.
Cleaning the water feeding into Lake Okeechobee and our local estuaries from the north must be a priority in order to fix our water quality issues in St. Lucie County, Martin County and Palm Beach County. Piece-meal projects are not solutions to heavily polluted (untreated) water flowing from Central Florida into Lake Okeechobee and the St. Lucie River, causing the toxic algae blooms. ....

Good afternoon Programme Director, Ladies and Gentlemen!
Today, we are gathered here to announce the 2020 National Senior Certificate (NSC) examination results. We are announcing these results in the context of what the NDP 2030, enjoins us to do, that “by 2030, South Africans should have access to education and training of the highest quality, leading to significantly improved learner outcomes. The performance of South African learners in international standardised tests, should be comparable to the performance of learners from countries at a similar level of development and with similar levels of access”.

County to replace Fair Park sign

The electronic sign that stands along State Highway 31 at the Henderson County Regional Fair Park Complex is getting a larger, more up to date, replacement.
Fair Park Manager Howard Calloway told Commissioners Court on Tuesday, the new sign will cost about $190,000. At the meeting Commissioners authorized Calloway to apply for a 2021 Community Development Grant through the Athens Economic Development Corporation to pay for part of the sign.
The county is applying a grant of $38,000.
The sign has been up there for about 15 years, Calloway said. Some of the components in it are broken. Some are obsolete and you can t replace them. ....
