Inker Robotics, a leading robotics company, has initiated a first-of-its-kind automation programme to preserve puppetry the 4,000-year-old performing art culture.
The company has innovatively used technology and automation to successfully replicate the art form in an attempt to preserve the essence and beauty of a dying art form. This would facilitate future generations to experience the art form in as close to the real performance as possible.
The first live model of the automated process in puppetry is now open and showcased at the District Heritage Museum in Palakkad and was inaugurated by the Kerala State Government Archaeological Department. ....

Leather puppets in the traditional Tholpavakkoothu are being animated by robots.
When tradition meets modernity, the result can sometimes be amazing. A puppet with robotic movements may not sound very charming but in a melding of traditional art and cutting edge technology, a shadow leather puppet in Kerala’s famous temple art Tholpavakkoothu is being animated by a robot.
For the first time, the famous shadow leather puppets will tell stories of the epic Ramayana with the help of robots.

Thiruvananthapuram: Inker Robotics, a leading robotics company in India, has made an indigenously developed humanoid robot named Alton, which has forwarded a request to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman ahead of the Union Budget.
Developed at Inker’s R&D centre, Alton is a modular training robot designed to enable an experiential learning experience in the field of robotics.
In an interaction with Rahul P. Balachandran, CEO of Inker Robotics, Alton has shared his views and expectations for the upcoming Budget.
According to Alton, “Globally, automation is currently a $168 billion industry with an immense growth opportunity.
