Agriculture Ministry embarks on revising AIP list of Beneficiaries


As one way of flushing out the ghost beneficiaries on Affordable Inputs Programme (AIP) list, the Ministry of agriculture has embarked on a process to revise the list and remove all those who are not eligible to be on the list.
In his words, the Ministry’s spokesperson Gracian Lungu said that the preparations for the 2021/2022 have already started, and that government will ensure that the beneficiaries start accessing the inputs by July this year.
“We have done all the preparations for the beneficiaries to start accessing the inputs this coming July. What we all want is to make sure that the Inputs are going to the right beneficiaries not ghost ones hence revising the list”, Said Lungu. ....

Minister Lowe describes AIP a success despite challenges: Hits 90 per cent redemption rate

Minister of Agriculture Lobin Lowe has  labelled the 2020/21 Affordable Inputs Programme (AIP)  a “success” and announced that  it ends on 20th February 2021.

Lowe speaking at a news conference  held at Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC)in Lilongwe  on Thursday  said the programme made “ a landmark achievement of getting over  90 percent redemption rate.
He said out of 3 788 105 targeted farmers, 3 391 440 smallholder farmers had redeemed their 2 bags of 50kgs each while 2 662 340 targeted farmers had redeemed seeds by 30th January 2021. ....
