"The second batch of 121 stranded Indians leaves Port Sudan for Jeddah onboard IAF C-130J aircraft," the Ministry of External Affairs tweeted informing that another sortie is soon to follow.
Indian Air Force C-17 transport aircraft, planned to leave for Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to bring back Indian citizens from there.
"#OperationKaveri INS Teg departs from Port Sudan with 297 passengers. This is the fifth batch of stranded Indians enroute to Jeddah," Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi tweeted.
On Monday, Jaishankar announced the launch of the mission ‘Operation Kaveri’ to bring back the stranded Indians from Sudan. Under its evacuation mission ‘Operation Kaveri’, India is taking the evacuees from Sudan to the Saudi Arabian city of Jeddah from where they are returning home.
The frigate on Tuesday arrived at Port Sudan with additional officials and essential relief supplies for stranded Indians.
