Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: SpiceJet has expressed interest with the Resolution Professional of Go First and wish to submit an offer post diligence, with a view to creating a strong and viable airline in a possible combination with SpiceJet. BSE Midcap index down 0.5 percent and smallcap index is trading flat.
Positive setup was seen in stocks like IRCTC, Siemens, Zydus Life, Hind Copper, NALCO, Indiabulls Housing Finance, SAIL, Exide Industries, Granules India, BHEL, Bajaj Auto, CUB, IGL, etc. among others.
The benchmark NSE Nifty 50 index lost 0.18% to 21,418 points, while the S&P BSE Sensex settled 0.24% lower at 71,315.
“Technically, Nifty Midcap and Nifty Smallcap are in a strong uptrend as they are marking the sequence of higher tops and higher bottoms. The uptrend remains intact as long as the sequence of higher tops and higher bottoms is sustained. Also, it is trading above its short and long-term moving averages. The momentum indicators and oscillators are also supporting the overall bullish chart structure,” he says.
India VIX was up by 2.68% from 11.83 to 12.14 levels on Monday. Volatility was slightly higher but the overall market was in a broader trading range.
