Recent initiatives and milestones in India's development cooperation with Nepal are likely to be highlighted during the upcoming visit of Nepal Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba to India, his first official trip since his appointment as PM in July last year.
Nepal Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba is likely to visit India for a three-day trip on April 1. This will be his first official bilateral visit since he assumed the Prime Minister’s office in July last year. However, there has not been any official announcement from either side. As per sources, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Nepali PM will jointly inaugurate the Kurtha-Jaynagar Railway on April 2 in New Delhi. The train service would cover a distance of 35 kilometres from Jayanagar in India's Bihar state to Kurtha in Janakpur, Nepal.
Connectivity at three of the integrated check posts (ICPs) along the Indian border could be enhanced through the rail network.
