The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) has reported 55 combat clashes at the front during the day of October 12, adding that the situation in the east and south of the country remains tough.
Russian occupying forces have stepped up their activities near several settlements on the Avdiivka front, launching attacks on the Kupiansk, Lyman and Bakhmut fronts, with a total of 108 combat engagements taking place on the contact line over the past 24 hours, which is significantly more than has been recorded on a daily basis lately.
Russian invasion forces are resuming attacks in the Lyman-Kupyansk sector of the front, increasing the intensity of shelling and conducting air strikes, the Ukrainian military’s Eastern Grouping spokesman Ilya Yevlash said on Ukrainian national television on Oct. 11.
During the day, the Defence Forces of Ukraine repelled 10 attacks by the Russian army near Avdiivka and eight more near Stepove and Sieverne in Donetsk Oblast. In total, 72 combat clashes took place on the contact line.
