On April 16, Vivekh was rushed to a hospital in Chennai after suffering a heart attack. The very next day, his health deteriorated and he breathed his last on April 17. Many celebrities across industries, including PM Narendra Modi, took to social media to share fond memories of the actor. On Tuesday (April 20), actors Vijaykumar and Arun Vijay planted saplings in their garden as a fitting tribute to Vivekh, who raised awareness about the environment and afforestation.

Actor Udhayanidhi Stalin started shooting for his next film, which is going to be the Tamil remake of the Bollywood film Article 15 on Monday. The entire cast and crew paid their tribute and observed a moment of silence on the sets in honor of late actor Vivek before starting the shoot. 
Producer Boney Kapoor took to his Twitter and posted, "Today @Udhaystalin joined the shoot of remake of #Article15 directed by @Arunrajakamaraj in Pollachi. Before commencing work, the whole Unit observed a minute of silence to pay respect and homage to the departed Soul of Late Shri #Vivek Ji (sic)."

MUMBAI: Actress Urvashi Rautela took to social media on Sunday to mourn the demise of Padma Shri actor Vivekh and recall her experience of working with him in her upcoming Tamil debut film.
The first schedule of the film was shot in Manali last month.

Veteran Tamil actor Vivek breathed his last on Saturday morning in Chennai hospital. The actor-comedian and Padma Shri awardee was rushed to the hospital a day before after he complained of chest pain. The shocking demise has sent social media into mourning. Celebrities to fans, the admirers of Vivek are sharing heartfelt tribute for the actor. Singer and music composer AR Rahman tweeted: "can’t believe you’ve left us ..May you rest in peace ..you’ve entertained us for decades ..your legacy will stay with us."
Mourning the shocking demise, actor Gautham Karthik tweeted, "Not able to believe this... He made us laugh, he educated us through his performances, he cared for this world and helped teach us how to take care of it. There will never be another like you sir. We will miss you. Rest in peace @Actor_Vivek sir #ripvivek."
