Deputy Prime Minister Hor Namhong has requested that France send a delegation to observe the upcoming July national election in Cambodia. Namhong made the request during a courtesy call by French ambassador Jacques Pellet on March 27 – the same day Japan pledged to send observers to the election.
Prime Minister Hun Sen has asked the French Development Agency (AFD) to continue to help Cambodia develop its human resources, water treatment and transport infrastructure. AFD has committed $100 million in funding for projects in the coming year.
