Police arrested Deshawn Lonique Thompson, 20. Thompson is charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, and other charges.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Greensboro Police have charged another man in relation to a shooting that led to the death of Jalen Scott Dunston,18. 
Thursday, Greensboro Police announced they arrested Deshawn Lonique Thompson, 20. Thompson is charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, and discharging into an occupied vehicle. 
Greensboro police opened an investigation after finding Dunston with a gunshot wound back on November 15. Police said they responded to reports of a gunshot near Omaha Street and Julian Street just after midnight. Investigators said first responders tried CPR, but Dunston died from his injuries.

Greensboro police arrested a second suspect in connection to the death of a North Carolina A&T University freshman who was killed.On Thursday, police said they arrested and charged Deshawn Thompson, 20, of Greensboro in connection to the murder of Jalen Dunston, 18. On Nov. 15, 2020, officers responded to the 900 block of Omaha Street near Julian Street in reference to a shooting. When they arrived, they found Dunston with gunshot wounds. CPR was performed, but he died at the scene. A second victim survived the shooting. According to an email from the university, Dunston was a nursing student in the College of Health and Human Sciences from Raleigh.Click the video player above for more information about the shooting.Here is the full email sent to students:"Dear Aggie Family,"We regret to inform you that North Carolina A&T student Jalen Dunston died Nov. 15. He was a freshman nursing student in the College of Health and Human Sciences from Raleigh, North Carolina."Jalen's death is a great loss to the university community. Our thoughts, prayers and condolences are with his parents, friends and family."At this time, a funeral or memorial service has not been scheduled."Resources are available for those who desire grief support. Students may visit the Counseling Services center virtually. Please call 336-334-7727 for a consultation. Faculty and staff may contact the employee assistance program, ComPsych, at 1-866-511-3373, or via Guidanceresources.com using the company ID: NCAT." Thompson is in the Guilford County Jail. He's charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, and discharging into an occupied vehicle, said police. A second man, Burce Stewart is also charged in connection to Dunston's murder. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 336-373-1000.
