The national industrial court has fixed Wednesday to rule on an application by the federal government seeking to end the ASUU strike.
The National Industrial Court, NIC, of Nigeria, on Monday fixed September 21 to deliver judgment in the suit challenging the ongoing strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU. The court, sitting in Abuja, had on Friday, declined to hear an application the federal government filed for an order to direct the ASUU to immediately suspend their ongoing strike action. In a ruling by Justice Polycarp Hamman, the court refused to hear the application, after it heard from the counsel to the striking university lecturers, Femi Falana, SAN.
