Precocious archer James Woodgate: nerves cost me in the heat of the Tokyo battle

Precocious archer James Woodgate: nerves cost me in the heat of the Tokyo battle
Olympic debutant Woodgate, 19, navigated his way to the last 64 but was unable to hit the target against Kazakh archer Ilfat Abdullin
James Woodgate admits he was flustered by the heat of the Tokyo Olympic furnace as his memorable Games debut came to a premature end.
Shepperton's sharp shooter, 19, navigated his way through the ranking round in Japan but succumbed against Kazakh archer Ilfat Abdullin in the last 64.
The Surrey star, ranked world No.212 in the recurve category, had qualified in 38th but went down 7-3 on Thursday morning after fellow Brit Patrick Huston, 25, had also crashed out.

Tokyo Olympics: Swimmer Adam Peaty wins Team GB's first gold medal

Kingdom FM
Adam Peaty has won gold in Tokyo, becoming the first British swimmer to defend an Olympic title.
He swam 57.37, just missing his own world record in the 100m breaststroke final, but landed Team GB's first gold medal in the
Tokyo Olympics.
He let out a huge roar just after touching the wall to become a double Olympic champion.
Anything less than a win would have been a huge upset and afterwards he dedicated the victory to the GB swimming team and his family back home.
"It just means the world to me. I thought I had the best preparation but morning finals changed everything and threw that out of window," Peaty said.
