Now that Youn Yuh Jung is recognized globally, the "Minari" actress revealed her thoughts about Hollywood.
In her recent interview with NBC News, the veteran South Korean actress shared that she admired some of Tinseltown's brightest stars, including Brad Pitt and fellow Oscar 2021 nominee Glenn Close.
To recall, the 73-year-old actress had the sweetest reaction when she met the "Moneyball" actor.
Upon calling her name as the winner for Best Supporting Actress at the 93rd Academy Awards, Youn Yuh Jung's speech starts by shooting her luck with the A-lister.
"Mr. Brad Pitt ... finally. Nice to meet you," she said, adding, "Let me pull myself together" before thanking her "Minari" director, Lee Isaac Chung, and fellow co-stars.

NEW YORK: The Academy Awards television audience plunged to 9.85 million viewers on ABC, less than half of the Oscars' previous low and continuing a startling trend of viewer tune out for awards shows.
The Nielsen company's preliminary estimate shows that the audience who watched "Nomadland" win best picture on Sunday was 58% below last year's tally of 23.6 million, which had set the previous record for least-watched Oscars telecast.

America continued to make classificatory history on Monday early morning when it announced that its Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences had awarded one of its most coveted awards to a ‘woman of colour’ for the first time.
'Nomadland' director Chloé Zhao, understandably, is not complaining. She has received the coveted ‘statuette of (bright) colour’ as best director and, as she said in her acceptance speech, she has ‘always found goodness in the people’ she has met, people of no colour at all included. Good for her.

Youn Yuh-jung: second Asian to bag best supporting actress award - Newspaper

Youn Yuh-jung, the feisty grandmom in Minari, captured more than her movie grandson’s heart.
Youn, a prominent film and TV actor in her home country of South Korea, won the best supporting actress award at Sunday’s Oscars. She’s the second Asian actress to triumph in the category, more than six decades after Japanese-born Miyoshi Umeki earned the trophy for 1957s Sayonara.
In her acceptance speech, Youn was as charmingly candid as her character in Minari. You are all forgiven” for the frequent mangling of her name, she said, smiling. She then acknowledged what she called her wonderful Minari family, including director Lee Isaac Chung, and her formidable peers in the category.
