Thirty-four people admitted at a district hospital have died due to severe heat in the last 24 hours, health officials said on Friday.
While 54 deaths were reported from UP, 44 people died in Bihar in the last three days
Authorities are expected to launch a comprehensive investigation to determine the causes of these unfortunate deaths and address any systemic issues that may have contributed to the situation. The inquiry will likely focus on the hospital's resources, staffing levels, infrastructure, and overall capacity to handle medical emergencies. "As per records of the district hospital, of the 54 deaths, 40 per cent of the patients had fever, while 60 per cent were suffering from other diseases. So far, only two persons have died due to heat stroke in the district," Kumar told PTI.
