I'm carol costello. thank you so much for joining me. we do continue to follow breaking news out of a tiny little town near roanoke, virginia, where something happened on their morning television station, their local station there. that reporter, alison parker and adam ward were doing a live shot when they were shot to death on the air. you can see the picture on your left. s that -- that is the gunman, that image captured by adam ward, the photographer, after going down. his camera was still rolling and he captured a picture of his alleged killer. now, police are looking for this man. schools...

That. we -- i don't think alison and that individual even overlapped here. alison had been here a little more than a year. adam had been here some time longer. is i can't figure out any connection with those people who were among the kindest, nicest people who worked here and i'm not exaggerating when i say that. this place is in shock, as you might expect, there's a lot of crying and hugging going on. we just can't even reckon with that people are asking who was shot first and what video there and all of that and as journalists we want to answer those questions but those are really second dir...

It then came to light that one of the last acts that adam ward did was use the camera to capture the face of vester flanagan and there you see it right there as that camera is tipped on the ground giving us a different perspective and altered right side up and see the man holding the gun over the body of adam ward. police were able to quickly put this together. i.d. who the suspect, the person of interest was. able to find him later this morning along i-66. and that's when things all started to come to light that this person, vester flanagan, also known as bryce williams, is a former reporter,...

He was attempting to record and report this entire crime. >> it is one of the strangest and saddest things i have seen. because of the power of modern smart phone technology while he is rolling down the interstate with police in pursuit and maybe not he would have been able to upload the videos he shot himself aapparently or filmed himself of him shooting this camera crew he had this beef with. he could have done that using cellphone technology as he is rolling down the highway and that is apparently what he did. because we have both seen the videos prior to them being removed from facebook an...
