(Seguin) — If you are still in need of a COVID-19 vaccination, then Wednesday is the day to easily obtain one. That’s according to Jennifer Sourdellia, the public information officer for the city of Seguin. Sourdellia says the city will again host its latest and maybe it’s last mass vaccination clinic this Wednesday at the Seguin Coliseum. “You know things are kind of slowing down as far as the demand for the vaccine. We are getting less and less people every time we do these and so this will probably be one of the last ones that we are going to have. I would say take this opportunity. Come and get your vaccine.
Coronavirus COVID-19 Vaccine Vials and Syringe On Reflective Surface. (Seguin) — The city, county and hospital are making it easier for you to get your COVID-19 vaccination this week. The mass vaccination clinic this week will be a drive-thru event, which means people can drive up and never actually have to get out of their vehicle. Officials say 1,200 first doses of the Moderna vaccine will be given from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday outside the Seguin Coliseum. The free shots are available to anyone 18-years of age or older. Even though this clinic will be a drive-thru event, officials say you still need to schedule an appointment time. Helping residents get rid of all their unwanted junk will again be the city of Seguin. The city will be hosting a Spring Clean-Up Day on Saturday in the Seguin Coliseum parking lot. Jennifer Sourdellia, the city of Seguin public information officer, says all residents have to do is pack up their trunks, trucks or trailers and bring proof of residency such as a photo ID or utility bill to prove they reside within the city limits. “It’s just a really great time to cleanout things out of your garage or out of your house that you want to get rid of that maybe you haven’t had a chance to get rid of. You can bring that stuff to the Seguin Coliseum and we will take it out of your vehicle. We will unload it and we will properly and safely dispose of it for you so it’s very convenient for all our residents,” said Sourdellia.

Seguin Public Information Officer Jennifer Sourdellia says all city offices will be closed in observance of the holiday, and it will also cause a disruption in the city’s regular garbage collection schedule. “City offices will be closed on Friday, January 1 for New Year’s Day. We will not have garbage collection that day, neither will we have recycle or brush collection. If you have Friday garbage collection, that’s going to be moved over to Saturday. So it’s going to be delayed by one day,” said Sourdellia.

COVID-19 strikes again. The city of Seguin has canceled events and stopped taking reservations at city properties, according to a news statement Public Information Officer Jennifer Sourdellia released Friday. Mayor Donna Dodgen made the decision which goes into effect Wednesday and extends through Feb. 1. âPublic safety and what is best for our community drives my decision,â Dodgen said. âI want us all to be safe and healthy, so please take care of each other and be mindful of personal behaviors.â The Seguin Events Complex has stop taking reservations for the coliseum and fairground facilities, the release read. Customers will receive full refunds for facility bookings impacted by the decision, it read.
