Secretary John Setka says those responsible should ‘hang their heads in shame’ as officials study rally footage
CFMEU Secretary John Setka says protesters who descended on the Melbourne headquarters will be “expelled from the union” after the violent demonstrations led to a two-week pause on construction and became a superspreading event.
Melbourne’s construction workers will return to worksites from today with strict COVID-19 protocols in place.
Among those infected from the rallies which saw the city stand still at the end of last month include elderly parents, young children and two babies, the union confirmed on Tuesday.
Workers will return from Monday, but construction industry leaders are seeking further guidance for tradespeople still locked out of work.
