Organic produce arrives at Lebanon Farmer's Market, meat vendor coming

A sweeping new produce stand in the Lebanon Farmer's Market is offering everything from fresh spinach and locally grown heirloom tomatoes to chocolate milk and drinkable yogurt.
Red Barn Produce, which opened at the beginning of April, is one of at least two new vendors arriving at the market. A meat vendor from Lancaster County is also set to arrive in a month or so. This as yet unnamed stand will be close to the alley entrance around the corner to African Paradise and is set to be "fairly large," according to an email from Joya Morrissey, owner and manager of the market.

Donations still needed for five children of two young mothers killed in house fire
The Lebanon community is stepping up to ensure the children are provided for, now and in the years to come.

When two young mothers died in an early morning house fire on Jan. 22, they left five young children behind, but not alone.
Summer Boltz, 36, and Katisha “Katie” Williams, 33, died in a fire at Summer’s row house apartment at 316 North 11th Street in Lebanon.
Fortunately, Summer’s three children, ages 11 to 3, and Katie’s two, ages 6 and 4, slept elsewhere that night.

The past year has been both unfathomable and unforgettable.
In 2020, the coronavirus pandemic irrevocably altered life in Pennsylvania and around the globe. As the virus emerged in the spring, life changed in ways no one could have foreseen or even conceived a year ago.
Schools, businesses, sports and entertainment venues shut down. Doctors and nurses scrambled to treat patients suffering from an illness they were only beginning to understand. Shoppers endured shortages of staples such as disinfectants and toilet paper. Many had to work at home and simultaneously help their children navigate the concept of going to school virtually.
