Court Grants SERAP Permission To Pursue Suit Compelling Buhari Government To Probe Alleged Missing N3.1Billion In Finance Ministry

  A Federal High Court in Lagos has granted the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project leave to pursue its suit seeking to compel President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration to probe allegations of missing funds in the finance ministry. SERAP on Tuesday announced that Justice Tijjani Ringim of the Federal High Court, Lagos granted it the leave to pursue the suit.

The first prosecution witness, Olusegun Falola, in the ongoing trial of Ismaila Yousouf Atumeyi, a Kogi State House of Assembly candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, and two others has told the court how N681 million was paid into the politician’s business account. The witness told Justice Tijani Ringim of the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos how the sum was paid into Atumeyi’s account. Atumeyi is the Kogi State House of Assembly candidate of the NNPP for Ankpa 11 Constituency.

N1.4Billion Bank Fraud: Court Denies Bail To Kogi House Of Assembly Candidate, Two Others

The Federal High Court in Lagos on Tuesday denied bail to three men accused of hacking the computer network of Union Bank and stealing N1,403,343,400 (N1.4 billion). The trio are a candidate seeking election into the Kogi State House of Assembly, Ismaila Yousuf Atumeyi; a former employee of Union Bank, Abdulmalik Salau and one Ngene Joshua. The suspects were on Monday arraigned by the Lagos Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on 18 counts before Justice Tijjani Ringim.
