With work from home as a default, taxi drivers and private hire drivers (PHVs) have seen a reduction in ridership.

100 lunch packs
Volunteers will be distributing 100 packets of lunch to the drivers.
Taxi drivers and PHVs can collect a free pack of lunch and a care pack from them at Kallang Community Club (CC) between the time of 10:15am to 11:15am every weekday, from May 31 to Jun. 11.
A makeshift drive through point has been set up for the food distribution and collection.

TraceTogether tokens handed out again at 38 CCs - but without the long queues

SINGAPORE - Residents lined up on Monday (Jan 18) to collect their TraceTogether tokens - but this time without the long queues seen in October.
Distribution of the devices - an alternative to the Covid-19 contact tracing app for those who prefer not to use a phone - resumed at 38 community centres and community clubs (CCs), 12 weeks after it was suspended due to overwhelming demand.
Only a few people were queueing at Anchorvale Community Club, Toa Payoh Central Community Club and Kallang Community Club when The Straits Times visited on Monday.
Finance controller Chris Tay, 49, described his experience in Kallang as "smooth and orderly". He said he was turned off by the queues during the previous collection period but this time had managed to collect his token in a few minutes.

15 months' probation for teen who had sex with minor to make her ex-boyfriend jealous

SINGAPORE - A youth who had sex with an underage girl to make her former boyfriend jealous was sentenced to 15 months' probation on Monday (Dec 28).
As part of his probation, the 17-year-old Singaporean has to remain indoors from 11pm to 6am every day and perform 60 hours of community service.
His parents were also bonded for $5,000 to ensure his good behaviour.
The boy pleaded guilty on Nov 13 to two counts of sexually penetrating the girl, who was 15 years old at the time.
She cannot be named due to a gag order to protect her identity.
The offender cannot be named as well due to amendments to the Children and Young Persons Act, which now covers those below 18 years old.
