A student died by suicide at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Silchar. The incident involved a 6th semester student of NIT's mechanical engineering department. The student, identified as Kishor Pran Deka, was found hanging inside the bathroom of a guest house of the institute. Police confirmed it as a case of suicide due to depression.
