Farmers National Banc Corp. elects new chairman James Smail Community bank holding company Farmers National Banc Corp. elected James Smail as chairman of the board during its annual meeting on Thursday, April 15. According to Farmers, Smail, 74, joined the Canfield-based bank holding company as vice chairman in July 2015 following Farmers' acquisition of First National Bank of Orrville, where he had served on the board of the parent company since 2009 and was named executive chairman in 2013. Bob Hannon, his staff, Kevin Helmick (president and CEO of Farmers National Bank), volunteers and many contributors should be very proud of their efforts in this tough pandemic year.
