MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) - The Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office has received multiple reports of phone calls from people claiming affiliation with the department.
A news release says the suspect attempts to elicit personal information claiming people missed a court date or failed to respond to a subpoena.
The office says scammers frequently modify their phone number to match with a government entity, and the suspect may also attempt to provide names of local officials or judges.

MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) — April is National Volunteer Month, a time to recognize the important work local nonprofit organizations do.
Mission 22 aims to help veterans recover from mental illness. The nonprofit has been serving the military community since 2013.
Last winter, when a video of local volunteer and ambassador Loren Files holding a sign on the corner of a busy intersection went viral on social media, Mission 22 caught the attention of millions around the world.

MORTON, Minn. (KEYC) — Five juvenile teenagers were injured in a one-vehicle crash Monday near Morton, authorities say.
The Redwood County Sheriff’s Office says it was dispatched to a one-vehicle crash on CSAH 2 near Oxford Avenue within the Lower Sioux Indian Community at approximately 4:53 p.m. Monday.
Authorities say the vehicle was traveling over the posted speed limit when the driver lost control of the vehicle and swerved into the ditch and hitting a tree.

NORTH MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) — The League of Minnesota Cities chose Dakota Meadows Middle School sixth grader Kate Camp as a winner in their Mayor for a Day essay contest.
Her essay was chosen from over 150 submissions from fourth, fifth and sixth graders statewide.
Camp said she was excited to win and hopes to set a good example for people in the city.
“And just try and make everyone included in whatever I’m doing,” she said.

LAKE PRAIRIE TOWNSHIP, Minn. (KEYC) — A St. Peter man was killed early Wednesday in a crash involving a farm tractor and semi.
The Minnesota State Patrol reports 62-year-old Randall Allen Shively, of Woodbury, was driving a 2020 Mack tractor truck southbound on Highway 169 near mile marker 71 when it collided with a southbound International Farmall tractor that was being driven by 58-year-old Mark Michael Osborne, of St. Peter.
Osborne was pronounced dead at the scene. Shivley was not injured in the crash.
