BBMP officials
Twelve
former mayors of welve former mayors of the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) submitted an undersigned letter to the top officials, asking to clear all hurdles required for converting ‘B’
Khata properties to ‘A’. The formal submission was made during the special meeting called by the BBMP officials on Wednesday, seeking suggestions from the ex-mayors for the 2021-22 Budget, which will be presented by the end of this financial year.
This is the first time a dozen former mayors attended the annual meeting called by the BBMP ahead of finalising the budget. This time, the Palike will be presenting the budget in the absence of elected councillors. Officials are likely to focus on completing the pending works by allocating adequate funds instead of announcing many new proposals. The BBMP also requires nearly Rs 2,000 crore to clear the backlog of pending bills.
