Rapper and business mogul Kanye West is a man on the media radar. There is always something on the news about this Chicago native. If it’s not about his music, it’s probably about some major business stride, some family drama, or entertainment controversies.
Putting West’s life in a video isn’t a walk in the park. And that explains why expectations are for a Kanye West documentary that, according to sources, boasts of 21 years’ worth of content.
Because there is so much to cover about West, the documentaries will be delivered in some sort of series. Clearly, a 3–4-hour documentary wouldn’t give much about the 43-year-old entertainment big name.

Kanye West is getting his own documentary series about his life and career, and Netflix has acquired the multipart project that’s expected to debut later this year, an individual with knowledge of the project and the sale told TheWrap.
Clarence “Coodie” Simmons and Chike Ozah, better known as music video duo Coodie & Chike, are directing the still untitled project that’s been put together from never-before-seen home movie footage spread out over 20 years about the rapper. And Billboard is additionally reporting via a source that the deal for the docuseries is for upwards of $30 million. However, an individual with knowledge of the deal described that number as inaccurate.

According to a report from
Billboard on Tuesday (April 6), sources say that Netflix spent somewhere north of $30 million to acquire a miniseries that contains two decades worth of footage obtained by a music video and filmmaker who have been documenting ’Ye's life and career for over 20 years.
An insider reportedly told the outlet that the movie and TV series-based streaming service received the untitled project from Time Studios as well as Clarence "Coodie" Simmons and Chike Ozah—also referred to as Coodie & Chike—the directors of Yeezy's "Through the Wire" video and the third version of the rapper's "Jesus Walks" visual.

The multi-part series has been more than 20 years in the making and will feature never-before-seen footage and home videos of the superstar.
A multi-part documentary featuring never-before-seen home videos and other rare footage of Kanye West is coming to Netflix in 2021 via two music-video and filmmakers who have been chronicling the artist-turned-billionaire entrepreneur's life and work for more than 20 years.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has revealed a list of the feature films that are eligible for Best Picture consideration at the 93rd Oscars. Set to air on April 25, the list contains 366 films including some foreign projects. South superstar Suriya's
Soorarai Pottru is in the race. The film is loosely based on the book encapsulating the life of a retired Army Captain, G. R. Gopinath who founded Air Deccan, a low-cost airline. The movie is directed by Sudha Kongara, bankrolled by Guneet Monga's Sikhya Entertainment.
To be eligible for consideration under rules provisions implemented for the 93rd Academy Awards year only, feature films may open in a commercial motion picture theater in at least one of six U.S. metropolitan areas: Los Angeles County; the City of New York; the Bay Area; Chicago, Illinois; Miami, Florida; and Atlanta, Georgia, by February 28, 2021, and complete a minimum qualifying run of seven consecutive days in the same venue. Drive-in theaters open nightly are included as qualifying commercial venues in the above cities. Films intended for theatrical release but initially made available through commercial streaming, VOD service or other broadcasts may qualify if the film is made available on the secure Academy Screening Room member site within 60 days of the streaming/VOD release or broadcast. Feature films must have a running time of more than 40 minutes.
