If you knew that your time here on earth was less than a day from being over, how do you think you would spend your last evening?

In the Gospel of John chapter 13, we’re told that Jesus is in exactly this position. John tells us that “Jesus knew that the Father had put all things under his power and that he had come from God and was returning to God.” His death on the cross that will conquer sin and death once and for all is at hand, and Jesus knows it.

Exceptional Teacher: Julie Rawlins

Mrs. Rawlins has gone above and beyond to teach her Highly Capable 3rd grade class this year, entirely remotely. She has the patience of a saint to lead this group of kids through remote learning, teaching them more difficult vocabulary, higher level math, and to ensure they are excited about school. She’s brought in an interesting podcast, talked thoroughly with the class about having a growth mindset, and even took them on a virtual field trip to the San Diego Zoo. On top of keeping her kids engaged in remote learning (which is tough as it is), she has also been working through caring for, and ultimately taking in an aging parent to live with her. She is working through all the required paperwork, caring for her mother, and teaching remotely in a pandemic.
