According to PG&E, more than 10,200 customers were without power as of 3:15 p.m.
Watsonville city leaders issued an evacuation order to some residents Tuesday night. The notice came roughly 24-hours before the storm was expected to start.
At 6:05 p.m., dam operators reported that the spillway of the North Fork Dam was compromised and was expected to overtop the spillway by Thursday morning.
The water did not get above flood stage or reach any danger point.
