W ith over 100 covid-19 deaths reported in
Bengaluru on Tuesday, volunteers,
ambulance drivers, staff allotted for cremations and burials of the deceased had to wait for hours at
crematoriums for the last rites to be done. On Tuesday, over 30
bodies were queued up at each of the crematoriums allotted for
covid cremations.
Over the last week, the toll in Bengaluru has been spiking. Volunteers say that there are also covid patients dying at home, which are also being accounted for by the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP).
