Uniindia: Jalandhar(Punjab), Sep 14 (UNI) A zonal recruitment officer of the Indian Army has written to the Punjab government saying that recruitment rallies in the state under the short-term Agnipath scheme may be suspended or transferred to other states, claiming that support was not forthcoming from the local civil administration.
In the letter, Major General Sharad Bikram Singh said that they are not receiving adequate support from the local administration in organising the rallies.
Indian Army’s Agnipath scheme is progressing as per schedule for 2022-23 and recruitment rallies in Punjab's Ludhiana and Gurdaspur have been successfully conducted with the full support of civil administration, sources said.
The Army demanded that the administration must provide police assistance and administrative support for the recruitment rally.
