Ajax are just one point away from clinching their 35th Eredivisie title after beating AZ Alkmaar 2-0 in the Amsterdam ArenA.
Midfielder Davy Klaassen tapped in twice from close range after AZ had matched the champions for the first hour of the game. Although Ajax have a 12-point lead with four matches to play, their superior goal difference means the title is a formality.
‘I’m usually a bit reserved, but it can’t go wrong now,’ Klaassen said after the match, which was watched by 7,500 fans after supporters were allowed back into stadiums for the first time since September.

"I know the qualities of my team and the result was possible," Wriedt told Brabants Dagblad.
"It is a dream for me to play against these kinds of teams. Ajax is the best club in the Netherlands, played in the Champions League. But that is great for our entire team, not just for me.
"I used my body to keep the defender away from me and put the ball in front of my left foot. Then I fired in hard and low. That's like I often do, yes. If I can shoot with the left, there is always something possible."

Ajax go into the Christmas break with a lead of just one point in the Eredivisie after they could only manage a draw at home against struggling Willem II.
Erik ten Hag’s side took the lead in Tilburg after just three minutes as Antony pounced on some slack defending, but lost momentum and were punished shortly after half-time when Kwasi Wriedt squeezed a shot into the corner.
A frustrated Ten Hag said he warned his team at half-time not to rest on their laurels. ‘They needed to step up a gear, but I didn’t see that extra gear until after the equaliser.’
