ISRO has hibernated Chandrayaan-3’s lander and rover for the next two weeks, hoping to reawakening them for another lunar day of experiments.
Scientifically speaking, a Lagrange point is a spot where the gravitational forces of two large objects, such as the sun and the earth, cancel each other out, allowing a spacecraft to “hover”.
The Vikram lander elevated itself by about 40 centimetres, and landed safely 30-40 centimetres away in a ‘hop experiment’, ISRO said.
Following quickly on the success of India's moon landing, the country's space agency launched a rocket to study the sun.
