DRIPPING SPRINGS, Texas - Dripping Springs ISD has a new superintendent.
The district's Board of Trustees unanimously voted to hire Dr. Holly Morris-Kuentz, the former deputy superintendent for Lake Travis ISD, during a special meeting Wednesday night.
Dr. Morris-Kuentz was named the lone finalist for the position on April 13 and will begin in her new role immediately, says the district.
"I am grateful for the opportunity to join this amazing team and to serve in Dripping Springs," said Dr. Morris-Kuentz. "Over the last 11 years I have had wonderful experiences leading in a fast-growth district and love the work of engaging a community in that process. I know that, as a growing district, there is much work ahead and I am excited to roll up my sleeves and begin."

Lakeway City Council votes to require Oaks developer to begin extending Main Street by March 15.

To speed up the extension of Main Street from the Oaks at Lakeway to Lohmans Crossing, the Lakeway City Council unanimously amended its planned unit development agreement with Oaks developer Stratus Properties, requiring the company begin construction on the road no later than March 15, with a March 15, 2023, completion date. The provision allows the city to take recourse against Stratus if those provisions are not met.
That decision Monday night was made shortly before the council unanimously revised its code of ordinances to clarify the purpose of a PUD and to make it a better district.
The council adopted an ordinance last month giving Stratus a five-month deadline to begin the road’s construction but notification issues caused the item to be brought back on Monday
