Eastern Connecticut State University s Communication Department held its annual Celebration of Excellence on April 28. This event inducted 30 new students into the Lambda Pi Eta national honor society for communication and recognized additional students for excellence in radio, journalism, television, video production, research and leadership.
Among those honored was senior Robin Blassberg of Danbury, who majors in Communication. Blassberg is a 2021 inductee.
Established at Eastern in 2005, Lambda Pi Eta is the official communication honor society with 400 active chapters worldwide. This honor society recognizes students who stimulate interest in the field of communication, promote and encourage professional development, explore opportunities for graduate study and more. Eastern Connecticut State University s Communication Department held its annual Celebration of Excellence on April 28. This event inducted 30 new students into the Lambda Pi Eta national honor society for communication and recognized additional students for excellence in radio, journalism, television, video production, research and leadership.
Among those honored was senior Fiorella Beccaglia of Stamford, who majors in Political Science and Communication. Beccaglia received Excellence in Journalism for the Campus Lantern.

CARLINVILLE Four west-central Illinois students are among those who have been inducted into the Academic Honors Society at Blackburn College.
Kenneth Schaad of Bluffs was inducted into Alpha Chi, a national honor society. It recognizes students in the top 10% of their junior or senior class who are elected by Blackburn faculty on the basis of academic achievements and character.
Emily Moran of Carrollton was inducted into Psi Chi. It is an international honor society that recognizes outstanding student achievement in the science and application of psychology.

Lebanon, IL-(ENEWSPF)- A’ja Nauden, of Park Forest, joined the McKendree University chapter of Lambda Pi Eta on April 14. It is the National Communication Association’s official honor society at four-year colleges and universities, with more than 500 active chapters nationwide. It represents what Aristotle described in
Rhetoric as three ingredients of persuasion:
logos (Lambda), meaning logic;
ethos (Eta), defined as character credibility and ethics.
Founded in 1828, McKendree University’s historic Lebanon, Ill., campus is 25 miles from St. Louis, Mo. McKendree also has a center in Radcliff, Ky., and offers degree programs online and at Scott Air Force Base, Ill. MACOMB/MOLINE Six students were inducted into Western Illinois University s chapter of Lambda Pi Eta (LPH), the National Communication Association s student honor fraternity, during the Spring 2021 semester.
The Pi Pi Chapter of Lambda Pi Eta inductees are Terry C. Smith, a junior communication major, Canton; Kelsey Cook, a senior communication major, Bettendorf, Iowa; Rebecca Aderoju, a graduate student communication major, Nigeria; Gabriella Gonzalo, a junior communication major, Ottawa; Lissette Cavazos, a senior communication major, Waukegan; and Emma Formhals, a senior speech pathology and audiology major, Canton.
Communication majors and minors with at least a cumulative 3.0 GPA (grade point average), a 3.25 GPA in communication (with a minimum of 12 hours in communication) who have also accumulated at least 60 hours are eligible for membership in the organization. ....
