KNBN NewsCenter1 July 26, 2021 DEADWOOD, S.D. — Deadwood’s longest-running annual event kicked off on Monday, attracting cowboys and cowgirls from around the world. Deadwood’s Days of ‘76 is celebrating its 99th anniversary. The event started in 1922 as a way for the community to celebrate the city’s history. Two years later, the Days of ‘76 rodeo was sanctioned by the PRCA. Over the decades, the rodeo has been named PRCA Medium Rodeo of the Year 19 times.
