Ex-April member Lee Jin-sol goes solo after ostracism scandal

Lee Jin-sol, former member of now-defunct K-pop girl group April, is going solo with her new song, “Let me out.” This is the 21-year-old's first solo track since she debuted as part of April in 2015. Lee has mostly been out of the public eye since last March, after April's members were accused of ostracizing Lee Hyun-joo - who left the group in 2016 - when they were bandmates. The ostracism allegations were first raised by Hyun-joo's younger brother, who posted accusations online, insisting that April's members forced his sister to quit the group.

K-pop agency DSP Media has announced it is taking legal action against Lee Hyun-joo, a former member of girl group April, after she posted claims on social media that she had been bullied by its other members.
The agency released a statement, Saturday, denying Lee's allegations that she was verbally and physically assaulted by the other girls in the group and that it turned a blind eye to the abuse.

Girl group's agency to take legal action against ex-member over ostracism allegations

DSP Media, the management agency of K-pop girl group April, said it will take legal action against Lee Hyun-joo, an actress and former group member, for making allegations that she had been ostracized by her ex-colleagues.
A person claiming to be Lee's brother accused April's members on Sunday of ostracizing his sister. He also insisted that Lee suffered panic attacks due to the abuse and had no choice but to leave the group in 2016.
The agency, which also represents Lee, said Wednesday that it failed to reach a compromise with her on the issue.
"We have reached a point where we cannot keep our conversation going with Lee and her family," DSP said in a statement. "We talked with Lee and her mother twice, but she kept saying she was a victim and asked us to release a one-sided, untruthful public statement. A person who claimed to be her brother posted another accusation online earlier today, too."

"It's not true my sister quit the band because she wanted to go into acting," the accuser said. "I've always wanted to tell people the truth … I feel now is the time to work up the courage to speak out about it."
He claimed that Lee suffered panic attacks and dyspnea as a result of being shunned by her bandmates and even attempted suicide.
