India News: NEW DELHI: Voting for the Jangipur constituency in the Lok Sabha elections will take place on May 7, in the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections.

The rift between the Congress-Left combine and the TMC, fighting separately, has intensified as the final five phases of polls draw closer. Local issues such as corruption allegations, the cancellation of School Service Commission (SSC) jobs, incidents in Sandeshkhali, and implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) are altering election dynamics in West Bengal. The Left-Congress alliance is fast gaining traction in several seats, turning the polls into a three-cornered contest in at least 18-20 LS segments.

As the final five phases of polls draw closer, rift among Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) partners, Congress-Left combine and the Trinamool Congress, which are fighting separately has intensified, triggering a fierce contest across half of the remaining 36 constituencies in West Bengal driven by local issues such as Sandeshkhali and the SSC scam.

Murshidabad constituency is witnessing a three-cornered fight with CPIM general secretary Mohammed Salim, sitting MP Abu Taher Khan and BJP's Gouri Shankar Ghosh in the fray. The Left Front is working together in this constituency with Congress, which has not fielded any candidates here.
