Xiaomi's foray into EVs reflects China's push towards electric and hybrid vehicles, aiming for a greener automotive future.
Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun said the company's standard SU7 model will be priced at 215,900 yuan while its Pro and Max versions will 245,900 and 299900 yuan respectively.
Xiaomi's first electric vehicle, the SU7 sedan, will be priced below $70,000, making it significantly cheaper than Tesla's Model S and Porsche Taycan.
The Xiaomi SU7 electric sedan has officially launched and priced from CNY215.9K (about RM142K). It offers Porsche Taycan-level performance for less than RM200K.
Xiomi SU7 Car Price: "In the three years of developing this car, my biggest realization is that making cars is extremely difficult. Even a giant like Apple gave up on it," Lei said to a packed audience at the event, which included high-profile Chinese auto executives, including the leaders of Chinese EV makers Xpeng , Nio and Li Auto.
