New beginning for Wooster family after devastating house fire

WOOSTER  When the ball drops at midnight on New Year's Day, the Duffy-Scott family will say goodbye to a difficult year.
The family of three hopes for good things to come in 2021, and won't be looking back at the year a pandemic hit and a fire claimed their home.
Rebecca Scott, Chris Duffy and their 5-year-old son Randy Duffy were displaced after a Nov. 11 fire destroyed their home. They were living on the second floor of a multi-family residence. A close family friend gave them a home for the holiday season.
Wooster resident Chrissy McKinney didn't hesitate to offer up her home to Scott and the Duffys. McKinney has been like a sister to Chris Duffy for nearly 20 years and has grown close to Scott in the seven years she has been with Duffy. The younger Duffy is like a nephew to her, she said.
