March 4 (UPI) -- The National Park Service said Thursday that Park Rangers had recovered the body of a missing Kentucky man in the Grand Canyon, bringing an end to a multi-day search and rescue operation.
Park rangers discovered the body Wednesday near a yellow motorcycle in the canyon some 465 feet below the rim of the South Kaibab Trailhead, the service said in a statement.

Officials said they believe the body is of John Pennington, 40, from Walton, Ky., who is thought to have entered the Grand Canyon on Feb. 23.

GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK, Ariz. (AP) — Authorities say the body of a missing California woman has been recovered from about 300 feet below the South Rim at Grand Canyon National Park.
Rangers from the National Park Service located the body Tuesday near Trailview Overlook along the Hermit Road.  They say the body has been identified as 31-year-old Lillian Meyn of Woodside. 
Meyn was reported missing Monday by a family member.  Later that day, Meyn's vehicle was located on the South Rim near the Bright Angel Lodge.
Authorities say an investigation into the incident is being conducted by the National Park Service and the Coconino County Medical Examiner.

The body of a California woman who was reported missing Monday has been found below the rim of the Grand Canyon National Park.
NPS officials said the body was located Tuesday near Trailview Overlook along the Hermit Road.
Authorities identified the victim as 31-year-old Lillian Meyn, of Woodside, Calif.
Recovery teams located the woman's body about 300 feet below the rim.
Meyn was reported missing on Monday by a family member and her vehicle was found on the South Rim of Grand Canyon near the Bright Angel Lodge later that day.
