NSW records nine new coronavirus cases on Boxing Day

New South Wales has recorded nine new Covid-19 cases - including a child - after almost 40,000 people were tested for the virus on Christmas Day.
Premier Gladys Berejiklian said eight of the nine new infections reported on Saturday were linked to the Avalon cluster on Sydney's Northern Beaches. The ninth infection could be a false positive, she said.
Six of the eight cases on the Northern Beaches were in the same household and the other two had been identified as close contacts after the virus was previously transmitted in Paddington and at the Avalon Bowling Club.
'There are still concerns about the CBD and still concerns about people in the Northern Beaches who may unintentionally have spread the virus without knowing they have it,' she said.

Public health alert - new venues and updated dates, times and advice

An additional date has been added for this venue.
Those who attended the venue at this time should monitor for symptoms and immediately get tested and isolate if they appear.
There are more than 320 COVID 19 testing locations across NSW, many of which are open seven days a week.
Testing clinics in NSW will remain open on Christmas Day and all public holidays.
Clinic opening hours will be clearly listed on the NSW Government website. It is recommended that you check the website on the day you need to get tested to ensure you have the most up-to-date clinic information.
If there is no clinic open near you, attend your nearest public hospital. Most people in NSW are receiving their test results within 24 hours.
