Delhi lockdown has been extended till May 31
Delhi lockdown has been extended by another week, CM Arvind Kejriwal announced on Sunday. The COVID-19 restrictions in the national capital will now be in place till 5 am on May 31 even as cases have continued to plunge.  
While announcing the lockdown extension in Delhi till May 31, CM Kejriwal said unlocking in the national capital in a phased manner may begin after May 31 if the cases continue to fall.

Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, on Sunday, announced that the Covid lockdown in Delhi will be extended up to May 31. Even though the test positivity rate (TPR) in Delhi is just 2.42 percent, the Delhi government decided to extend the lockdown to prevent a possible surge in Covid cases in the coming days. 
Delhi to open in phases from May 31
In the last 24 hours, Delhi witnessed 1,642 fresh Covid cases, the lowest since March 30, and 189 deaths. As the test positivity rate has dipped to 2.42 percent, medical experts believe that the second Covid wave in India's capital has started slowing down. However, medical experts have urged the government and people to be on guard, as a potential third wave could attack children, causing havoc in the capital, and in the entire nation.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has announced that lockdown in the national capital is being extended for another seven days effective from May 10 till May 17 to curb the spread of the novel Coronavirus in the state. Metro train services will be halted during the period, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Sunday.
He said although COVID-19 cases have come down in the last few days, but any slackness would squander the gains achieved so far in the current wave of the pandemic.
The Delhi government had been forced to impose lockdown amid a steep rise in COVID-19 cases on April 20. Although, the cases have come down and positivity rate has reduced from the high of 35 per cent on April 26 to around 23 per cent now, but strictness is needed, he said.

The survey, conducted by community social media platform LocalCircles, received responses from more than 32,000 residents across all 11 districts of Delhi
Delhites, in huge majority, are favouring yet another extension of lockdown, suggests a survey. While 75% of respondents preferred at least a one-week extension of lockdown, 60% among them favoured a two-week lockdown. The survey, conducted by community social media platform LocalCircles, received responses from more than 32,000 residents across all 11 districts of Delhi. 68% of them were men and 32%, women.
