Logistics Costs: The report has been prepared by the National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER) in a consultative manner with guidance of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) experts and task force members.

“The kind of investment that India is making in both physical and digital infrastructure....all that is creating an enabling environment where we will start getting good and credible data, on the basis of which we can do data-based planning and ultimately data based policy making as well,” DPIIT secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh said while releasing the study.

India is set to release a framework to assess its logistics cost, with estimates suggesting it stands at 13-14% of the country's GDP. The government is working on a comprehensive report containing baseline aggregated logistics cost estimates and a long-term logistics cost calculation framework, which has been reviewed by external experts from the World Bank.
