The Saudi Ports Authority (MAWANI) aims to achieve the National Transportation and Logistics Strategy (NTLS) goals by consolidating Saudi Arabia's position as a global logistics center and a hub linking three continents. It is seeking to increase private sector investments in ports and conclude contracts and agreements to establish new logistical zones and achieve a qualitative and comprehensive shift in work and operation mechanisms and logistical support in Saudi ports.

The Saudi Ports Authority, Mawani, announced the completion of the Red Sea Gateway Terminal at Jeddah Islamic Port, leading to an increase in its capacity, SPA said on Thursday. The completion of work at Jeddah Islamic Port’s North Container Terminal, in cooperation with the Red Sea Gateway Terminal “RSGT” with investments amounting to SAR1 billion, is expected to enhance the operational capabilities of the port, increase its capacity, and raise the efficiency of logistics services, Mawani said in a news release.

Saudi Ports Authority, Mawani, has completed development works at Jeddah Islamic Port’s North Container Terminal, increasing its handling capacity from 2.5 million TEUs to 6.2 million TEUs. It was completed at a cost of $266 million.

Mawani has completed the work on Red Sea Gateway Terminal in Jeddah at an investment of SAR1 billion ($266 million). It included revamp of buildings in the terminal, automated gates for trucks as well as 11 berths of 2,600m equipped with 24 STS cranes.
